LDNY People are currently working in partnership with one of the UK’s leading Engineering and Design Consultancies.
Established over 20 years and with a strong network across the UK, Europe and Asia, they are world renowned for 1st class project delivery, with a particular emphasis on the Data Centre market.
They currently have a requirement for a Principal Power Engineer, to join their Data Centre team, based out of their West London office.
This position offers hybrid working, the chance to work on great projects and a clear path of progression within the business.
Principal Power Engineer Role Responsibilities:
- Design and optimization of power systems within the Data Centre industry, running computer simulations, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of power distribution systems.
- Conduct load flow analysis to ensure optimal power distribution within Data Centre’s.
- Conduct studies to minimise power quality issues and optimise performance.
- Coordinate protection systems to enhance the reliability and safety of power distribution networks.
- Evaluate and select electrical equipment for power distribution.
- Work closely with the design team to provide expert insight into power distribution.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of simulation methodologies and tools within power system design.
Principal Power Engineer Role Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters in Power Engineering or a closely related equivalent.
- A proven track record and experience in Power Systems engineering.
- Experience within ETAP would be desirable, alternatively DigSilent or SKM.
- Experience in both LV and MV systems, ideally up to 132kV.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Whilst this position offers hybrid working you will need to be commutable to their London office.
