Mike Richardson joins LDNY as Principal Consultant.

LDNY are delighted to have Mike join the business bringing with him his vast knowledge, guidance and enthusiasm to help our clients around the world achieve their business and sustainability goals.

From a North Yorkshire base, Mike will bring his particularly rare experience, insight and skill gained from across multiple building and business types; including the public and private sector; as a consultant, as a client, as a contractor; as a business owner and simply as someone who wants to provide the best service in any given circumstance. All of this is now being channelled into Client Advisory, providing independent, unbiased, straight-talking guidance.

As a business leader, Mike has over 30 years of leadership experience, as an equity partner, later senior partner and chair of multi-disciplinary, multi-location, construction consultancy. Mike consequently has good knowledge of partnership business affairs and complex group divisions, which includes strategic business growth through mergers & acquisition planning and transaction management. Mike’s M&A experience extends to the divestment of complex group divisions in to a combination of trade and private equity organisations.

Mike is a Chartered Architect, trained at Leeds School of Architecture, where he developed an inquisitive forward-thinking approach to problem solving and the navigation of sometimes conflicting statutory obligations; to championing sustainability; and to meaningful social conscience outcomes for the wider good.

More recently, the opportunity to push the boundary of sustainability has been comprehensively explored, motivated by the knowledge that many accreditation programmes have a narrow focus not always aligning with the client’s ambitions; plus the brief to create “the greenest of green buildings” requiring carbon negative development in construction and in use. One particular example of the latter, now delivered, being part-funded by Research England [via UKRPIF] and the Lloyds Register.
